You must be 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license to operate equipment from Erie Wake Zone.
The minimum age for jet ski passengers is 8 years old. The passenger must ride on the back of the jet ski.
There is a minimum of one hour per reservation and the maximum is eight hours.
500 lbs. when two passengers are riding one jet ski and 300 lbs., when one passenger is riding a jet ski.
Every person on a jet ski should wear shorts or swimming trunks and a tank top or t-shirt. No swimsuits or swimsuit bottoms are allowed for safety reasons. See the warnings on the front of the jet ski console. Bring a change of clothes, as there is a possibility you will get wet. We highly suggest wearing polarized sunglasses. The sun reflects off of the water, making visibility difficult on sunny days.
All life vests are provided. Please indicate the size you will need at checkout. All life vests are cleaned and sanitized after every use. You may use your life vest if you wish.
You will need a valid US driver's license/ID and a major credit card. Bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from the wind and the glare of the sun on the water. We have sunglasses for purchase if you do not bring a pair or do not want to lose your favorite pair.
We do not charge a deposit at the beginning of the rental. If there is damage/loss of any kind, you will be responsible for the total cost of the damage/losses to be paid upon repair/replacement. A $500.00 deposit will be charged at the end of the rental if there is damage. Any remaining money will be returned after repairs are made by an authorized Sea-Doo dealer. If the damage is higher than $500.00, you will be responsible for the entire amount of the total repairs.
We will remain open as long as the wind speed is lower than 10+ mph. Wind higher than this could cause open waters to become too rough and difficult to maneuver in. In open waters, wind speeds higher than 10+ mph, with gusts higher than 10+, could cause water to become too choppy, the jet ski to be unstable, and the waters too difficult to swim in the event your jet ski were to flip. Your safety is our first concern.
We will remain open if the rain is a drizzle and there are no thunderstorm watches/warnings. The waters on Lake Erie can change very quickly.
Yes, you can rent one of our jet skis. They are perfect for first-time riders. We will make sure to go over each ski thoroughly with you to ensure you have a pleasurable experience.
Anyone born before January 1, 1982, does not need a boater’s license. However, you must watch our instructional safety video, review our boating rules, and take a short quiz on water safety before you can rent from us. Anyone who has a boater’s license does not need to take the quiz, but will be required to watch the safety video, and will be required to review boating rules and regulations with us in person.
You will take the quiz upon arrival. Please arrive 30 minutes earlier than your reservation to allow time to check in and take the short quiz.
Fuel is not included in rentals. Rentals will be charged the current cost/gallon used during your rental. The total of fuel will be charged after your rental has ended. We will charge your credit card used to rent the equipment and send a receipt to your email.
We will reschedule your reservation for the next available day and time. If you are not able to schedule a day and time, we will issue a gift card for a later time in the amount of your rental or remaining time left on the current rental.

We will issue you At the first sign of bad weather, call Erie Wake Zone to let us know you are aware of the weather and are on your way back to the marina. You must return to the marina at Wake Zone. We will also call you or text you to let you know to return to the marina if we see the weather changing.
If at any time during your reservation the weather gets bad, we will pro-rate your time and issue you a gift card for the remaining time. That gift card can be used later the same day, provided there are availabilities or it can be used any other time you like.
You can operate the jet skis and boat in any of the 64 square miles in the bays in and around Sandusky. You must stay within 100 feet of the shore. You are not permitted to exit the jet ski, beach the jet ski, or anchor the jet ski. You are not permitted to ride in Lake Erie.
If you call and let us know you will be late, we will hold your rental until you arrive. Your time will not be extended if we have another rental scheduled after you. If we do not have another rental scheduled after you, we may be able to extend your rental time.
If you do not call, we will only hold your reservation for 15 mins past the reservation time. If you are past the 15 mins, you will be considered a no show and your reservation will be canceled. You will not receive a refund for a missed reservation.
Please plan on arriving 30 mins before your reservation so we can check you in, give you the safety quiz, and go over how to operate the jet ski or boat.
If you miss your reservation, you will still be charged the full amount of your rental. No refunds will be given.
